Top 5 Sources of news

When trying to keep up to date with the current news in the world, one has a large variety of options to choose from. Some, more respectable and trustworthy than others. Some are meant to be hard news, while others are meant to entertain and satisfy ones craving for any form of information or entertainment.

1. C-Span

C-span is arguably the most trustworthy news source out there. All they do is post and stream the current events happening in your town or in Washington D.C. They rarely comment on what's happening, and when they do, its a simple explanation as opposed to an opinion. When something very important is happening, generally try to put on C-span when I just want to know what's going on, without any real entertainment value. That way, whoever watches it can form their own opinions without bias.

2. Fox

That being said, when I do want a little bit of entertainment in my news, I put on Fox. While obviously having bias, they will cover mostly everything with little pick and choose mentality. When the president speaks, they put it on. Sometimes it can get a little bit annoying though, because the reporters will talk over what's currently happening constantly. The late night shows are very entertaining to watch, and you still feel somewhat up to date on the current events of the world.

3. Twitter

I know, I know, this one is a little bit out of left field. It's weird, whenever I hear news of something happening like a movie trailer dropping, I go right to Twitter to see if it's trending. The reason I like twitter is because it always has the most up to date current events, with no real bias, but then you can click and learn more about what everyone has to say. This normally has viewpoints from everyone and everywhere, so you can piece together what's going on and how the public feels about this. For some reason, Twitter is the first to know everything.

4. CNN

Similar to Fox, CNN is a reputable source, but has it's own flaws and bias. I put it on when the big-name reporters come on just to see the comparison of how they tell the news vs something like Fox. Just like Fox, its pretty entertaining, I personally don't really trust it, because they have shown to obviously pick-and-choose what speeches and content they show. However, that's their prerogative, so I have no qualms. It's always a good idea to get as many opinions as possible so you can accurately form your own.

5. Snapchat

While I'm also not very proud of this one, Snapchat is where people go when they want to mindlessly scroll the news. It's normally not really hard hitting news, it's more about what famous people are doing and what's going on with their lives. It's like TMZ in my opinion. That also means that it's incredibly popular when people don't want to know about stuff like the bombing of civilians in Syria.
